and also chairs the Corporate Bereavement Committee. Additionally, he is a faculty member of the FIU Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine and the New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. An experienced pastor, hospital, hospice and correctional chaplain, he has served as a psychosocial supervisor, as director of pastoral care for a state prison and a community treatment center, and as a senior pastor. He has been honored as Chaplain of the Year by VITAS Healthcare Corporation, twice by the Florida Baptist Convention and the Minority Chamber of Commerce. The City of Hialeah awarded him commendations for his work on the Mayor’s Ecclesiastical Board, and the Miami-Dade County Mayor’s Office and Commission has likewise honored him for his community service. The City of West Miami affirmed by official proclamation the work of the Coral Villa Christian Academy under his leadership. He leads a popular pastoral care radio program, La Hora Positiva, on a top ten South Florida talk radio station (WWFE 670 AM) broadcasting throughout Florida and the Caribbean and to over 50 nations via the World Wide Web. During his service as the Community Relations Chair for the Minority Chamber of Commerce, he was a frequent commentator on their weekly TV Show, “Miami Empresarial” on CNN Latino. He has also written for LifeWay Publishers and local newspapers. He has presented on subjects dealing with spirituality, pastoral care, leadership, religion, psycho-social care, health-care, history, and the arts, end of life care, bereavement, corrections and community affairs in many diverse venues in USA, the Caribbean and Central America. The focus of his studies, lectures, retreats and conferences is the care and wellness of the whole person (spiritually, physically, socially and psychologically).
